Our Muscular System: The Body’s System of Action - 6 CE hours (Tuition $130.00) -- Our skeletal muscle tissue is a dynamic three-dimensional tensile system which provides the means for balanced movement of our skeletal system. Our muscular system expresses our vitality and power, engages in relationship to gravity and resistance, and allows us to pursue our curiosity. As well as having the ability to express our intentions, muscle tissue contains proprioceptors which allow for sense reception. By manually supporting the proprioceptors, a renewed internal state is calibrated to provide more easeful and effective response. This class addresses the aspects of sense and action of muscle tissue using modalities of touch and movement re-education.
This class is based largely on principles of Body-Mind Centering® and is aimed to help practitioners refine their somatic presence, manual applications and support somatic intelligence through skilled touch and movement. Participants learn to broaden and apply their touch and presence palettes to the modalities and protocols they already use.
We begin class with simple qigong exercise and continue with demonstration, hands-on and experiential activities. Please bring comfortable, modest clothing.
