Certified Educator of Infant Massage - 56 CE hours (Tuition $695 )

This course is open to everyone over the age of 18.

Educator of Infant Massage Certification Competencies: At the completion of the training, the participant will be able to:

Describe the benefits of Infant Massage for the infant/child and the parent/caregiver, recall research studies on touch and its significance in the healthy growth and development of the infant and young child, correctly describe and perform the basic infant massage strokes and adaptations, describe and demonstrate the stroke variations for the growing child, teach Infant Massage skills and techniques to parents and caregivers, observe parent-infant interactions during massage instruction, identify possible difficulties and guide the parents to a more satisfying outcome, describe relaxation techniques for parents/caregivers and infant, define and utilize effective communication skills that will encourage the establishment of healthy rapport with the parent/caregiver, describe how infant massage can benefit an infant with special needs and their family, plan and adopt strategies for marketing an Infant Massage program in their community, set up an Infant Massage program in their workplace or community, list the potential contributions they can make in their workplace and in the community through their work with nurturing touch and infant massage. 

Students must bring a doll, approximately 20 to 30 inches long, with a soft, cloth body, plastic head, hands and feet are okay, preferably with open eyes and fingers, in order to actively learn, practice and demonstrate the strokes each day.  The doll must have clothing that can be easily removed and replaced. This doll will be your model, and it will become a very personal and professional part of your class that reflects you and your teaching with parents and their babies.

Students must complete the take-home study/exam and a five-family practicum teaching (in group/s or individual sessions) within 4 months or with possible extensions up to one year from the training dates. These requirements are the same in the IAIM, hq Sweden, USA Chapter and worldwide to qualify for international certification to teach anywhere in the world.

FMEC Refund policy: Cancellation refunds are only given with written notice 3 weeks prior to the first day of class. Emergencies will be considered with proof on a case by case basis for transfer to another FMEC training.
