Introduction to Ayurveda for Bodyworkers - 8 CE (Tuition $150) - Ayurveda is an ancient science and healing system which emphasizes the vitality and well-being of each individual which can be achieved through balanced lifestyle choices. This holistic system addresses the root of disease rather than just alleviate symptoms by incorporating the use of herbs, oils, essences, diet, meditation, yoga, and bodywork. It’s 5,000+ year old principles offer deep reaching solutions to present day health concerns and is becoming highly sought after in the west.
The teachings of Ayurveda explain simple yet profound ways of maintaining good health. This is based on ones unique constitution or a predominance of The Three Doshas- Vata, Pitta, Kapha which gives us our physical and psychological nature. For good health we must strive to keep ourselves balanced in ways that are appropriate for each of us as individuals.
This one day workshop is designed to introduce therapists to the foundational principles of Ayurveda, including the importance of Ayurvedic body therapies and personal self-care techniques.
We will explore the psychological and physical attributes of the three mind-body types (Dosha’s)~Vata, Pitta, and Kapha, and discuss how to create treatments that help bring balance to the Dosha’s.
The self-care techniques will include:
Warm oil self-massage
Neti pot use & Naysa oil application
Tongue scraping
Garshana skin exfoliation
